High School Academic Planning and Guidance

Depending on when the student begins college admissions counseling, a four-year academic plan will be tailored to best fit the needs of the student. The college counselor will review the course selections from year-to-year to demonstrate an upward trend in academic rigor. Extracurricular activities, community service, and leadership are vital aspects of the college application. We will formulate a plan for in-school and out- of- school activities that best match the student’s interests and talents. Learning styles and time-management skills be discussed to ensure success throughout high school.

 We will:

• A detailed review of the 4-year high school academic plan
• Recommend courses from year-to-year to ensure an upward trend in academic rigor
• Formulate a plan for in-school and out-of-school activities, leadership, community service opportunities, and research publications
• Identify learning styles
• Support with stress management and review of organizational and time management skills
• Plan campus visits/information sessions
• Discuss how to obtain stellar letters of recommendation from teachers, coaches, mentors, and employers
• Propose summer internships/experiences
